Job Description
A distinguished establishment in the Foreshore area of Cape Town is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie (CDP) to join its kitchen brigade. This role offers an excellent platform for a motivated chef to take responsibility for a section of the kitchen and ensure high-quality dishes are consistently delivered.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Take charge of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring dishes are prepared to specification
-
Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to recipes and quality standards
-
Assist in the development and training of junior chefs in the section
-
Ensure mise-en-place is completed ahead of each service
-
Monitor portion control, consistency, and presentation standards
-
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the section
-
Assist with stock management, rotation, and wastage control
-
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
-
Uphold all food safety and hygiene regulations within the kitchen environment
-
Report maintenance and equipment issues promptly
Requirements:
-
Previous experience as a CDP in a professional kitchen environment
-
Culinary qualification advantageous
-
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
-
Ability to remain calm and efficient during high-pressure service times
-
Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
-
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
-
High standards of personal hygiene and presentation
