About the Role
We are seeking a bold, creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen of one of Cape Town’s busiest and most talked-about venues, right on Kloof Street, the city’s leading food and nightlife strip. This is not a quiet kitchen role. It’s loud, fast, creative, and relentlessly busy. The kitchen delivers funky, elevated comfort food built for big services, bold flavours, and guests who come hungry and leave talking about it.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a high-volume kitchen in a fast-paced Kloof Street destination
- Create flavour-forward, modern menus with an elevated edge
- Deliver consistent, high-quality food during intense services
- Build, train, and motivate a strong kitchen team
- Collaborate closely with FOH to ensure flow, timing, and guest connection
- Manage food costs, stock, wastage, and suppliers
- Uphold exceptional standards of hygiene, organisation, and prep
Requirements
- Proven Head Chef or strong Senior Sous experience in busy venues
- A love for bold food and high-energy service
- Calm leadership under pressure
- Strong people skills and kitchen presence
- Hands-on, detail-driven, and commercially aware
Qualifications
- Completed relevant culinary education or certification (if applicable)
