About the Role
The Laboratory Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory, supporting the Laboratory Manager in maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the workplace is always neat and clean (A place for everything, and everything on its place)
- Implement and maintain safety standards
- Conduct QC testing on production batches in process
- Attend to Customer Complaints and comply with all procedure requirements
- Manage and maintain the Retention Sampling process
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain the register(s)
- Inform the Laboratory Manager when to replenish laboratory reagents, glassware, and other utensils
- Conduct QC testing on raw materials and final product
- Assist with R&D work as may be required
- Identify training needs for factory staff
- Identify new/improved test methods and/or equipment
Requirements
- Formal qualification in chemistry (BSc or HND)
- Minimum of 3 Years experience in industrial chemicals and personal care products
- Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and SABS
