Efficiency Staffing Solutions (Pty) Ltd Registration No. 2022/876857/07 Job Advert Duties & Responsibilities Supervision and Team Leadership Oversee and manage pipefitting teams during installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems. Assign tasks and ensure that pipefitters adhere to schedules and deadlines. Provide guidance, training and mentorship to team members to enhance skill levels and ensure safe work practices. Project Planning and Coordination Collaborate with project engineers, planners and other supervisors to plan and execute pipefitting activities. Interpret and review project blueprints, isometric drawings and technical documents to ensure proper implementation. Estimate manpower, tools and materials required for pipefitting tasks. Coordinate with other trades (e.g. welders, scaffolders and electricians) to ensure smooth execution of multi-disciplinary projects. Safety and Compliance Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and policies, including hazard identification and risk mitigation. Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and regular inspections to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure all pipefitting activities comply with industry codes, standards (e.g. ASME, ANSI) and petrochemical regulations. Quality Assurance and Control Monitor the quality of work to ensure all piping systems are installed according to specifications and industry standards. Perform inspections and tests such as hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing and visual inspections. Ensure proper handling, storage and installation of materials to prevent damage and contamination. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies during installation or maintenance activities. Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement corrective actions for pipe system failures. Documentation and Reporting Maintain records of work progress, resource usage, and incidents for reporting to project managers and stakeholders. Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly progress reports. Document and maintain material certifications, testing results and inspection reports for audits. Equipment and Material Management Ensure proper utilisation, maintenance and storage of tools, equipment and machinery used in pipefitting. Verify materials and tools meet project specifications and are available when required. Coordinate material delivery and storage to avoid project delays. Continuous Improvement Stay updated on the latest pipefitting techniques, tools and materials relevant to the petrochemical industry. Identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity. Provide feedback to management on design improvements or system modifications for better operational efficiency. Emergency Response Be prepared to act quickly during system failures, leaks or safety incidents to minimise downtime and risks. Coordinate with emergency response teams to implement containment or corrective measures effectively. Experience & Qualification 3 to 5 years experience.
