Cape Town City Centre: Reliability & Qualification Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the execution of product qualification testing, working closely with technicians and engineering teams Draft detailed qualification test procedures in compliance with relevant environmental and performance standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704) Manage readiness of test infrastructure and liaise with both internal teams and external testing facilities Oversee and conduct qualification testing activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete data collection Analyse test results, identify root causes where issues arise, and provide engineering feedback to design teams Compile and present comprehensive qualification test reports for formal review and sign-off Contribute to continuous improvement in testing methodologies, tools, and processes Travel to off-site testing facilities as required Desired Experience and Qualifications BEng or BTech in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Minimum of 2 years’ experience in testing, reliability, or qualification engineering Strong knowledge of electronic engineering principles Hands-on experience with environmental and functional qualification testing methodologies Familiarity with aerospace and defence standards, including DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-704 Ability to interpret and apply test procedures, reports, and technical specifications Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving ability Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration A proactive team player with a positive, results-driven attitude Ability to manage multiple testing cycles and deadlines simultaneously
