Cape Town City Centre: Segment Pricing Actuary – Australia & New Zealand

This position offers rare exposure to mature offshore insurance markets and provides the opportunity to work closely with international colleagues while contributing to pricing development, in-force management, and client solutions. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain pricing bases and technical terms for life and health business in the Australia and New Zealand markets. Conduct pricing reviews and monitor existing treaties to ensure ongoing profitability and alignment with company standards. Support tender processes for both new and existing clients. Assess risk exposure and contribute to risk management decisions. Collaborate with global pricing teams and work effectively across different time zones. Communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: Degree in Actuarial Science, Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field FASSA Experience: Minimum of 5 years actuarial experience Background in pricing retail life insurance products Experience working with mortality and morbidity datasets or studies Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively in a collaborative environment Comfortable operating across international time zones Skills: Exposure to reinsurance pricing Proficiency in statistical or coding tools such as VBA, SQL, R, or similar Knowledge of the Australian or New Zealand life insurance landscape Experience with actuarial modelling software (e.g., GGY AXIS) Prior involvement in analytics or experience analysis projects Apply now!
