We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrician to join the Facilities & Maintenance team, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable electrical operations across the property. The successful candidate will supervise and mentor junior electricians, carry out installation and repair works, and ensure compliance with safety standards while supporting hotel operations. Critical Criteria (Requirements) NQF Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Trade, or currently enrolled in an apprenticeship/learnership program Electrical Trade Theory qualification (completed or in progress) 23 years experience in a technical or electrical support role, preferably within hotels or commercial buildings Previous exposure to hospitality or large facility maintenance advantageous Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and willingness to mentor junior staff Ability to work independently and within a team South African citizen with a valid ID Key Competencies 🔹 Technical Expertise Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, and wiring 🔹 Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Identify and resolve electrical faults efficiently and safely 🔹 Safety & Compliance Adhere to PPE usage, health & safety regulations, and safe work practices for high-voltage systems 🔹 Team Leadership & Mentorship Guide, supervise, and develop junior electricians and apprentices 🔹 Organisation & Recordkeeping Maintain clean, organized workspaces, tools, and accurate maintenance records Duties & Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, lighting, plug circuits, and fixtures across the property Conduct routine inspections of distribution boards, panels, and electrical components, replacing lamps or fittings as required Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement safe, effective repairs Mentor and supervise junior electricians or apprentices, sharing knowledge on wiring diagrams, layouts, and troubleshooting techniques Assist with Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and tasks Maintain a neat, organized workspace; ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly and safely Update job cards, logbooks, and task records using CMMS or internal systems under supervision Identify hazards or potential faults and report them promptly to management Promote a culture of safety, continuous learning, and operational excellence Uphold the hotels values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant electrical experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan About the Hotel The hotel is on a journey to be considered a true luxury destination. Minimum Requirements: Must have a minimum of 3 years post-trade experience as an Electrician within the Food and Beverage Manufacturing Industry Trade Tested: Red Seal Electrician PLC experience Working knowledge of mechanical components and tools Strong skills of Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting Valid Driver’s License and own Transport required Must be able to provide contactable references and payslips on request Salary Structure: Basic Salary negotiable based on experience Benefits (Only suitable candidates will be shortlisted and contacted within 14 days)
