Job Title: Creditors Manager
Location: Cape Town, Northern Suburbs
Salary: R30 000.00 R35 000.00 CTC per month

Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Creditors Manager to lead our clients creditors team. The successful candidate will oversee and manage all aspects of accounts payable and creditor relations within our Creditors department. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations while maintaining positive relationships with our transportation vendors and suppliers
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Management:
- Supervise the accounts payable process for the Creditors department, including invoice receipt, approval, and payment processing.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transportation-related expenses into the accounting system.
- Implement and maintain efficient procedures for invoice validation, discrepancy resolution, and payment scheduling.
- Ensure that all processes are followed correctly and that PODs (Proof of Deliveries) are submitted timeously.
Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all queries are addressed promptly and effectively to maintain trust and operational flow.
- Serve as a key contact for escalations, resolving issues efficiently and diplomatically.
People Management and HR Processes:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Creditors team to achieve departmental goals and maintain high performance.
- Manage HR-related responsibilities including performance management, recruitment, and disciplinary procedures.
- Foster an approachable and supportive leadership style, ensuring open communication and team engagement.
- Work closely with another Creditors Manager, demonstrating strong teamwork and the ability to work effectively with a team with diverse personalities.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable and creditor management.
- Implement controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks such as fraud, errors, and duplicate payments.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in transportation creditor management, recommending adjustments to policies and procedures as needed.
Process Ownership and Improvement:
- Take ownership of processes, ensuring they are executed effectively and continuously improved.
- Identify opportunities for automation, technology integration, and workflow optimization within the transportation creditors function.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving overall finance and operations performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in accounts payable management, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with people management and HR process oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with a proven track record in implementing process improvements and automation solutions.
- Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and a problem-solving approach.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Approachable, hands-on leader who can take ownership of processes and drive accountability within the team.
Salary Package:
- Competitive salary from R 30 000.00 – R 35 000.00 per month.
