Job Summary
Hire Resolve`s client, a 4-star luxury resort hotel, is currently seeking an Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the hotels financial processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within a dynamic hospitality environment.
Responsibilities:

Cashbook Management:
- Perform full cashbook function, reconciling daily transactions with bank statements.
- Align cashbook entries with the general ledger monthly.
- Investigate and report unknown charges and deposits to the Financial Manager.
- Verify accuracy and legitimacy of invoices linked to debit orders.

Cash, Credit Cards, and Debtors:
- Reconcile daily banking (cash and credit cards) to bank statements.
- Ensure Accounts Receivable deposits are accurately captured and balanced monthly.

Month-End Procedures:
- Complete all journal entries and invoice submissions.
- Deliver an income statement to the Financial Manager by the 4th/5th of each month.
- Submit reconciliations of accruals, provisions, and sundry debtors by the 6th of each month.
- Compile and finalize balance sheet reconciliations by the 20th of the month.

Balance Sheet Management:
- Resolve discrepancies in accounts, including sundry debtors, refunds, unallocated deposits, credit cards, and cash balances.

Sundry Accounting Tasks:
- Prepare sundry debtor invoices and coordinate payments with the Creditors Clerk or suppliers.
- Investigate and allocate unidentified deposits, liaising with operational teams.
- Manage credit card chargebacks and report any irregularities to the Financial Manager and General Manager daily.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven track record in accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
