Hire Resolve`s Client is seeking to hire a Qualified Mechanic with knowledge on Wheel Alignment based in Dunoon, Cape Town.

The Qualified Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and wheel alignments on various vehicles and machinery. This role requires strong mechanical skills, diagnostic expertise, and the ability to maintain high safety and performance standards. The mechanic will ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and provide efficient, quality service to ensure operational continuity.

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of various vehicles and machinery.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Performing wheel alignments to ensure proper handling, safety, and tire longevity.
  • Replacing defective components, ensuring proper installation, and ensuring machinery is in optimal working condition.
  • Conducting mechanical tests and adjustments to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
  • Maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations while working with heavy machinery.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assisting in managing inventory of spare parts and tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualifications:
    • Certified Mechanic (Trade Test) or equivalent qualification.
    • Valid drivers license (preferably Code 8 or higher).
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic, ideally in an automotive, agricultural, or industrial setting.
    • Experience in performing wheel alignments and servicing heavy machinery or vehicles is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and mechanical equipment, including wheel alignment machines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in mechanical repairs.
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
