About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and professional Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join a prestigious luxury boutique hotel based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be passionate about maintaining exceptional standards and delivering outstanding guest experiences within a refined hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain guest rooms and public areas to the highest luxury standards.
  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations, staff schedules, and workflow.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and mentoring of housekeeping staff, fostering excellence and engagement.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and budgets efficiently, reducing waste and maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement and promote sustainable housekeeping practices throughout the property.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager or in a similar role, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of housekeeping SOPs, luxury standards, and health and safety protocols.
  • Commitment to delivering quality, guest satisfaction, and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager or in a similar role, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Certification in hospitality or housekeeping would be an asset.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
