About Our Client:
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be highly autonomous, proactive in solving infrastructure issues, and capable of leading infrastructure-related projects such as hardware refreshes, storage expansions, and data centre migrations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage resilient server and storage infrastructure solutions to ensure optimal reliability and performance.
- Install and configure server hardware and software with a focus on security and performance optimisation.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
- Maintain accurate records of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Collaborate closely with IT and application teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Lead technical infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in server and storage engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in SAN solutions, particularly Dell-based storage systems ability to build, configure, and maintain.
- Strong knowledge of Dell PowerEdge Servers and hosting platforms.
- Advanced experience with VMware virtualisation technologies including clusters, HA, vCenter upgrades, host patching, replication, and distributed switches.
- Hands-on experience with backup solutions, ideally Arcserve or similar technologies.
- Proven experience with data and infrastructure migrations.
- Strong understanding of automation and scripting, including PowerShell for infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, particularly N-Central.
- Solid grasp of networking protocols and concepts such as TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, and iSCSI.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, specifically Group Policy Object (GPO) management.
- Proven track record managing enterprise-grade infrastructure in production environments.
- Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and solve problems proactively.
