Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be highly autonomous, proactive in solving infrastructure issues, and capable of leading infrastructure-related projects such as hardware refreshes, storage expansions, and data centre migrations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage resilient server and storage infrastructure solutions to ensure optimal reliability and performance.
  
• Install and configure server hardware and software with a focus on security and performance optimisation.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
• Maintain accurate records of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Collaborate closely with IT and application teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Lead technical infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
  

Requirements

• Several years of experience in server and storage engineering roles.
  
• Deep expertise in SAN solutions, particularly Dell-based storage systems ability to build, configure, and maintain.
  
• Strong knowledge of Dell PowerEdge Servers and hosting platforms.
  
• Advanced experience with VMware virtualisation technologies including clusters, HA, vCenter upgrades, host patching, replication, and distributed switches.
  
• Hands-on experience with backup solutions, ideally Arcserve or similar technologies.
  
• Proven experience with data and infrastructure migrations.
  
• Strong understanding of automation and scripting, including PowerShell for infrastructure automation.
  
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, particularly N-Central.
  
• Solid grasp of networking protocols and concepts such as TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, and iSCSI.
  
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, specifically Group Policy Object (GPO) management.
  
• Proven track record managing enterprise-grade infrastructure in production environments.
  
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and solve problems proactively.
