About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Lead to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our technical leadership, you will be responsible for guiding the development of our software solutions and ensuring they meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead frontend and backend development teams
- Manage projects from inception to delivery
- Write code and contribute to open-source projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements
- Develop and maintain REST/APIs
- Conduct unit and integration testing
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to SDLC methodologies
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
Requirements
- At least 8 years’ experience writing code
- Experience in frontend and backend development
- Leadership experience
- Experience with CI/CD tools
- Understanding of OOP principles
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable building and deploying web applications in a NodeJS environment
- PHP – or other backend languages for web app development
- Comfortable with CSS/JS frameworks and libraries
Qualifications
- Degree/diploma in Computer Science or related field
