About the Role
Immix Technologies is seeking a Network Technician to join our team in Central Johannesburg, South Africa. As a liaison technician, you will assist with IT projects at leading Data Centers and co-locations around the country. Your primary responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server equipment, network connectivity, and cable management.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation / DE-installation of server equipment
- Server migration and/or reallocation
- Server and switch cabling (STP and Fiber patch cabling)
- Troubleshooting server outages and network connectivity issues
- Proper disposal of decommissioned equipment
- Arranging a team of 2 or more technicians as needed for project requirements
- Good communication and collaborative skills
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of servers, switches, CAT cabling types, Fiber cabling types, and Fiber transceiver modules
- Ability to read and comprehend customer project spreadsheets and flow charts
- WiFi-ready notebook/laptop with basic tool kit
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for equipment handling and server cabinet work
- Ability to lift servers and/or switches up to 75lbs
