Job Description
- Lead and manage national technical teams providing direct service and support to external customers.
- Ensure machine diagnosis results in the most accurate and cost-effective remedy for faults.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a standardized technical training strategy to ensure all technicians meet required Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Establish and standardize an effective maintenance program for all contract equipment.
- Oversee and maintain the complete library of machine service and parts manuals.
- Compile and present comprehensive technical reports on equipment performance to clients at regular intervals.
- Analyze and report on all internal and external warranty claims submitted.
- Monitor and control the budget and spending of all subcontracted technical work.
- Prepare, manage, and plan annual budgets for all national workshops and technical functions.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
- Facilitate weekly national meetings with department managers to ensure alignment and operational consistency.
- Travel as required to branch locations and client sites.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation as part of the company’s standardized service routine.
- Compile and review financial quotes for repetitive technical work.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering-, Technical- or Artisan field.
- NQF Level 5 or higher Management qualification.
- At least 10 -15 years experience in people management / managing a technical team.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training to staff.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, coordinate and lead a large technical team.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and stakeholders at all levels and clearly communicate and transfer complex technical knowledge.
- Proficiency in the Google Workspace (G Suite) environment.
- Experience in Data Management. (Intermediate level).
- Knowledge of data logging and technical reporting processes.
