Job Description
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The key performance areas of the role will focus on, but not limited to:
KPAs ACTIVIES/TASKS
1. Analysis and Design
- Design, modify and improve information systems to optimize workflow.
- Map business rules and processes into a technical solution for the organization.
- Analyze and document current systems.
- Prepare charts and diagrams (system requirements / specifications) that constitute a representation of the new system in terms which managers and non-data processing personnel can understand
- Prepare analysis which present cost versus benefit as a result of implementing the proposed new system/systems.
- Work with business owners to understand improvement requirements and identify problems of the current systems.
- Maintain currency with the application environment to ensure state of the art solutions.
- Assist with the development of configuration management plans.
- Assist in the development of test plans
2. System implementation
- Compile, in co-operation with the relevant main user(s) an implementation plan.
- Give help with programmatic data inputs, do the necessary compiling of code and data migration, where necessary.
- Offer the necessary support in respect of users’ access to the respective system functions.
- Do the program transfers and exemption from program codes, as applicable.
- Do the necessary checks to confirm the successful implementation of the system. Arrange for and obtain confirmation from users about successful implementation by the users.
- Give inputs into the users’ needs for system-related hardware, e.g. printers and the positioning of printers.
- Refer users to the Helpdesk for reporting problems relating to system infrastructure.
- Offer the necessary support to users in respect of the provision of accompanying information in order to expedite the resolving of system-related problems.

3. Research
- Researching and developing leading practices for the System Analysis function.
- Benchmarking and analysis of trends to optimize internal processes.
- Engaging with business units to proactively (and reactively) provide solutions, advising the organization’s management and other stakeholders in their relevant area of expertise.
- Benchmark the company’s System Analysis function with Local and International best practice and application at other Organizations.
4. Project management
- Identify strategic projects that need to be undertaken in the System Analysis function.
- Preparing project definition and detailed plans with the PMO.
- Driving and supporting the implementation of the specialized areas initiatives and strategic projects that address the needs and expectations of the company’s stakeholders
5. Governance and Reporting
- Monitoring and reporting on progress against functional initiatives.
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance with legislation and the company policies, procedures and controls.
- Promoting sound institutional governance, participating in required governance structures and serving as a member on the required forums.
- Compiling reports on the functional performance at the required intervals reflecting all relevant statistics
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/ National Diploma
- 3 years relevant experience
