The successful candidate will be a crucial part of our production process, responsible for the precise fitting and assembly of cabinetry and other woodworking products, as well as contributing to general workshop operations. This role requires a meticulous individual with strong technical skills, a commitment to quality, and the ability to manage various aspects of project execution.Key Responsibilities: Fitting & Assembly:o Perform accurate and high-quality fitting and assembly of various cabinetry components and finished products according to technical plans and specifications.o Ensure all assemblies meet stringent quality standards and client requirements.o Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify and rectify any imperfections. Workshop Operations:o Confidently operate a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient use.o Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.o Assist with general workshop tasks as required, supporting overall production flow. Technical Interpretation & Planning:o Fluently read, interpret, and follow complex technical plans, blueprints, and assembly drawings.o Contribute to project planning by accurately quoting materials and labour and effectively managing project timelines to ensure on-time delivery. Quality & Detail:o Demonstrate a perfectionist’s eye for detail, ensuring all finished products are of the highest aesthetic and functional quality.o Troubleshoot and resolve any fitting or assembly challenges with precision and ingenuity. Client & Project Management (where applicable):o Potentially interact with clients regarding project specifics and provide updates, ensuring clear communication.o Manage project progress from inception to completion, adhering to agreed schedules and budgets.Qualifications & Experience: Trade Qualification: Proven trade qualification through extensive experience in cabinetry, joinery, or a related woodworking field. Formal qualifications are a plus, but demonstrated practical expertise is essential. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar fitting, assembly, or workshop role, preferably within a custom cabinetry or bespoke woodworking environment. Technical Acumen:o Exceptional ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and plans.o Proficient in quoting projects and managing production timelines effectively.o Advanced proficiency in operating a variety of woodworking machinery (e.g., panel saws, edge banders, routers, sanders) and hand tools safely and efficiently. Attention to Detail: Possess an unwavering commitment to precision and a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring flawless finishes. Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is essential for potential site visits or material collection. References: Strong, verifiable professional references are a mandatory requirement.Skills & Attributes: Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
