Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Clanwilliam, Western Cape | Wilderness Reserve | Salary Negotiable DOE | Live-In
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join a luxury wilderness reserve in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will support outlet management in day-to-day operations while ensuring an exceptional guest experience and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:

Support outlet management in daily operations and guest engagement during peak meal times
-
Control and manage operating equipment stores, including purchasing and issuing equipment to outlets
-
Plan and execute food and beverage special events, contributing to promotional ideas to drive revenue and PR
-
Finalise staff rosters, ensuring sufficient labour in line with business levels while controlling labour costs

Manage operating costs in accordance with budgetary requirements
-
Coordinate training within the department to maintain high service standards
Minimum Requirements:
-
Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management
-
Minimum of 4 years experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, including at least 2 years managing a food and beverage outlet

Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Experience operating Point of Sale systems; Micros advantageous

Experience with stock management systems; FnBShop advantageous
-
Exposure to Opera system advantageous

Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills
-
Fluent in hospitality terminology, particularly food and beverage vocabulary
-
Knowledge of restaurant financials, stock control, and resolving stock discrepancies

Experience in service recovery

Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:

Micros Symphony exposure
-
WSET Level 1 (wine and food pairing) and Level 2

Training and staff development experience
