Hiring: Packaging Buyer (Pinetown, Durban)

Duties and

Responsibilities:

Source, negotiate, and purchase packaging materials in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Support manufacturing teams and communicate any supply issues.

Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments for purchasing processes and new projects.

Provide cost analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.

Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and review savings opportunities.

Prepare purchase orders, schedules, and follow up on outstanding orders.

Build and maintain supplier relationships.

Conduct supplier performance evaluations and resolve any issues related to price, quality, or delivery.

Monitor inventory records.

Skills and Attributes:

Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Commercial awareness and ability to prioritize tasks.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Familiarity with SAP or similar systems.

Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic industries preferred.
