Job Summary
A well-established engineering firm is looking for an experienced Senior Materials Technician (SMT) to oversee and manage a road construction materials laboratory.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering test methodologies following COTO, TMH, TRH, TG-series, SANS, and other relevant standards.
- Implement and manage Quality Control processes and Civil Materials Laboratory standards, including SANS 17025.
- Oversee quality control and material classification for quarry crushing operations.
- Coordinate with clients and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare materials as-built records and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Utilize Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting.
Requirements:
- Experience: 20+ years without formal qualifications, OR ND in Civil Engineering with 10+ years, OR PrTechni with 5+ years.
- Professional Registration: ECSA registration is advantageous.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of specifications, Bill of Quantities, and SANRAL projects.
- Skills: Report writing, communication, and client/contractor management.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience in Civil Materials Laboratories and Quality Control.
- Other: A valid drivers license is essential.
