Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Salary Payroll: Maintain and update the monthly salary amendment spreadsheet, including new hires, terminations, fringe benefits, and subsistence allowances. Process staff deductions and other ad hoc monthly changes. Reconcile third-party payment statements and assist with payment schedule preparation. Maintain and generate monthly payroll reports using VIP. Address payroll reconciliation queries and complete UI19 forms. Wages Payroll: Maintain and update employee information on VIP for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly wage payrolls. Import hours, allowances, and shifts for processing. Capture additional earnings and deductions while ensuring timely payroll capture and release. Generate payroll and tax year-end reports and distribute relevant reports to branches. Perform third-party monthly reconciliations, including provident funds and industry bodies. Address and resolve payroll-related queries efficiently. Payroll & HR Compliance: Prepare and reconcile EMP201 submissions and assist with EMP501 submissions. Support equity, skills, SEST, and STATSA reporting. Assist with HR-related queries and ensure compliance with tax and labour laws. General Payroll Management: Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employee types. Maintain comprehensive record-keeping in VIP, including leave and overtime tracking. Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and auditing purposes. Collaborate with finance and divisional administrators for seamless information flow. Problem Solving & Technology: Implement process improvements and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with the VIP Manager. Stay updated on payroll software, assist with system implementations, and collaborate during upgrades. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the VIP Manager and team members to achieve payroll goals. Provide support during peak periods and maintain organized payroll documentation. Experience and Education required: BCom degree Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to handle payroll inquiries. Proficiency in payroll reporting and reconciliations.
