About the Role
DataFin Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban, South Africa. As a key member of our EdTech platform, you will have the opportunity to work on a user problem and own the solution from concept to deployment, contributing to the development of an innovative AI-powered Educational Platform. Key Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for both Frontend and Backend systems.
- Work closely with the Founder and Design team to translate complex user needs and pedagogical concepts into robust technical solutions.
- Maintain Engineering standards by participating in code reviews, writing technical documentation, and helping to manage the CI/CD pipelines.
- Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack, ensuring the platform remains reliable and performant for students.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional experience building and shipping web applications.
- Strong proficiency in our stack: Python (FastAPI), JavaScript/TypeScript (React), and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Docker and Event-driven Architectures is a major plus.
- A fast learner who excels at mastering new tools and technologies in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
