Job Summary

Hire Resolve`s client, a leading Durban-based company, is seeking a System Applications Administrator to join their team. The role requires a dedicated focus on application maintenance, technical support, development, implementation, and participation in audit reviews.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Software Development/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Systems/ Informatics / Financial Information Systems or equivalent.
  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience working with core banking applications or similar enterprise-level software.
  • Strong knowledge of core banking application like IMAL and supplementary applications.
  • Experience with application maintenance, troubleshooting, support, audit processes and report generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Application Maintenance and Support:

    • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing applications, addressing issues such as bug fixing, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
    • Offer technical support at the system application level to resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime.
    • Implement proactive measures to identify and address potential issues, including regular checks on application performance.
    • Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) for application support, ensuring compliance and satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve application functionality based on user feedback.
    • Plan and monitor the End-of-Life replacement, upgrades, or retention of applications with suitable mitigations.
  • Application Development and Implementation:

    • Participate in the implementation, administration, and maintenance of application systems to ensure alignment with business requirements.
    • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for the ongoing maintenance of systems applications.
    • Implement best practices in application management, deployment, and support.
    • Ensure seamless integration of applications with existing systems and infrastructure, working closely with cross-functional teams.
    • Manage upgrades, enhancements, and patches for applications, coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Audit Reviews and Requests:

    • Participate in audit reviews for IMAL and supplementary applications.
    • Respond to audit requirements, providing necessary data and reports for each section.
    • Ensure timely completion of internal reviews for IMAL and supplementary applications.
    • Meet with auditors to address any queries and ensure the final management report is submitted.
    • Act on items raised in the management report and provide feedback to management at various committee levels.
