About the Role
As a Diesel Mechanic with Profile Personnel, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of diesel engines in our fleet of trucks. You will work closely with our team to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, while maintaining a high level of technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Truck Knowledge: Understanding of vehicles’ electrical systems, including battery charging, alternators, sensors, and power distribution.
- Diagnosing Engine Problems: Identifying issues in diesel engines using specialized diagnostic equipment or manual inspections.
- Performing Routine Maintenance: Ensuring trucks remain in good working condition through routine maintenance tasks such as changing oil and filters, replacing air and fuel filters, checking and replacing fluids, inspecting belts, and conducting other preventative checks.
- Engine Repairs: Repairing or replacing parts such as the turbocharger, fuel injectors, pistons, cylinder heads, or timing belts.
- Electrical System Troubleshooting: Checking and repairing electrical circuits, sensors, alternators, batteries, and more using tools like multimeters and diagnostic scanners.
- Transmission and Drive Train Repairs: Adjusting or replacing gears, clutch components, differentials, and driveshafts.
- Welding and Fabrication: Using welding equipment to fix cracked engine parts, exhaust systems, or structural damage to the truck frame, and creating custom parts when necessary.
- Troubleshooting and Emergency Roadside Assistance: Diagnosing problems quickly and performing repairs in challenging conditions.
