About the Role
We are seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our team at Complete Healthcare Services in the Eastern Cape region. The ideal candidate will work on a one-to-one basis with patients in their homes or facilities, providing high-quality care and support. Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care and assistance with personal hygiene (washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, support with moving, toileting)
- Administer medications under supervision of registered nurse or family member
- Document patient condition and progress
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients
- Perform basic wound care
- Manage feeds of tracheostomy babies using a feeding pump
- Observe changes in patient condition and record in daily report
- Assess sleep routines of patients and discuss with registered nurse to adjust care plan as needed
Requirements
- Ability to work on a one-to-one basis with patients in their homes or facilities
- Strong understanding of treatment plans set out by other team members (doctor, NSM, physiotherapist)
- Good communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of dealing with emergency situations with a patient in their home
- Knowledge of Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, Dementia Care, Post Stroke Care, Ventilation Care
- Experience with Catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent)
- Understanding of prevention of pressure sores in bedridden patients
- Familiarity with trachea care or experience working with tracheostomy patients
Qualifications
- Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
