Empangeni: Operations Fleet Manager

Introduction: Our Client a well-established Supplier and Transporter of bricks, pavers and cement in Empangeni is seeking a full-time Operations Fleet Manager to join their team. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Management: Oversee vehicle acquisition, replacement, maintenance scheduling, repairs, and disposal; manage licensing and registration. Driver & Team Management: Recruit, train, and evaluate drivers; monitor driver performance, behaviour, and safety records; manage licensing and certifications. Operations & Routing: Coordinate dispatching, optimize routes and schedules for efficiency, and use GPS/telematics for tracking. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all transportation laws, safety protocols, and internal policies; implement safety programs. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, analyze total cost of ownership (TCO), control fuel consumption, and negotiate vendor contracts. Reporting & Strategy: Analyze performance metrics, generate reports for management, and develop strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Core Duties Scheduling preventative maintenance and urgent repairs. Monitoring fuel usage and efficiency. Managing fleet management software and data. Ensuring proper driver training and licensure.
