Job Description
The role involves full responsibility for financial reporting, reconciliations, taxation support, budgeting, and cashflow oversight. The Financial Accountant will play a key role in interpreting financial data to support decision making, maintaining financial controls, and assisting with statutory audit requirements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, structured, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reports and Balance Sheet reports.
Perform tax reporting and inventory processing.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret financial data for weekly and monthly management accounts.
- Prepare company-wide budgets as well as departmental budgets.
- Forecast revenue, expenditure, and cash requirements.
Manage and reconcile the General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledgers, including:
- Bank accounts
- Debtors & Creditors
- Intercompany & suspense accounts
Verify and approve payment transactions ensuring:
- Correct GL allocations
- Proper supporting documentation
- Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow statements and expenditure controls.
- Assist with year-end close, audit preparation, and statutory accounts.
- Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Train, support, and oversee junior finance staff where required.
- Assist with ad-hoc finance projects as assigned.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Accounting or equivalent degree.
- Additional taxation or financial reporting certifications beneficial.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial accounting.
- Hands-on experience working with integrated accounting systems and extracting/reporting financial data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel for analysis and reporting.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and data analytical skills.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ability – able to work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, able to manage priorities independently.
- Approachable, adaptable, and able to work well in both team and individual contexts.
- Customer- and results-focused approach, committed to delivering quality outputs.
