This position is focused on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information across the business.
 
The role involves full responsibility for financial reporting, reconciliations, taxation support, budgeting, and cashflow oversight. The Financial Accountant will play a key role in interpreting financial data to support decision making, maintaining financial controls, and assisting with statutory audit requirements.
 
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, structured, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

• Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reports and Balance Sheet reports.

Perform tax reporting and inventory processing.

• Collect, analyse, and interpret financial data for weekly and monthly management accounts.
• Prepare company-wide budgets as well as departmental budgets.
• Forecast revenue, expenditure, and cash requirements.

 
Manage and reconcile the General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledgers, including:

• Bank accounts
• Debtors & Creditors
• Intercompany & suspense accounts

 
Verify and approve payment transactions ensuring:

• Correct GL allocations
• Proper supporting documentation
• Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow statements and expenditure controls.
• Assist with year-end close, audit preparation, and statutory accounts.
• Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Train, support, and oversee junior finance staff where required.
• Assist with ad-hoc finance projects as assigned.

 
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree.
• Additional taxation or financial reporting certifications beneficial.

 
Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial accounting.
• Hands-on experience working with integrated accounting systems and extracting/reporting financial data.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel for analysis and reporting.
