About the Role

This role is ideal for a highly analytical finance professional with strong investment and treasury expertise, excellent IFRS knowledge, and a passion for driving financial integrity and strategic insight. Reporting to the Head of Financial & Regulatory Reporting, you will lead the investment and treasury accounting function, ensuring accuracy, governance, and alignment with organisational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all investment and treasury financial information complies with IFRS, the Insurance Act, and GAAP.
  • Prepare accurate management accounts that meet Group financial reporting standards.
  • Manage the accounting function for the organisation’s investment portfolio.
  • Prepare investment financial reports for EXCO and Board subcommittees.
  • Analyse investment returns, cash flow, and portfolio performance (including LDI portfolio).
  • Review relevant invoices, support budgeting, and assist with fund allocation for tax.
  • Drive system and process automation within finance.
  • Enhance procedures and internal controls across finance systems.
  • Ensure accuracy and data integrity across financial reporting platforms.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure financial governance across subsidiaries and business units.
  • Oversee controls relating to income, expenditure, and financial system integration.
  • Reconcile investment balances and monitor solvency and liquidity.
  • Manage funding and investments in line with Strategic Asset Allocation.
  • Prepare investment and disinvestment documentation.
  • Build strategic relationships with fund managers, banks, actuaries, compliance, and regulatory reporting teams.
  • Support dividend payment processes.
  • Provide investment insights to support broader financial reporting and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting role with a strong focus on investments and treasury.
  • Experience within the financial services or life insurance industry is a MUST!
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical capability.
  • Excellent problem-solving and ability to simplify complex financial information.
  • Ethical, objective, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills.
  • High levels of professionalism, service orientation, and delivery focus.
  • Adept at knowledge and information management.
