Job Description
- Cost analysis: Conduct preliminary and detailed cost analyses and estimations for projects.
- Documentation: Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), contract documentation, and cost plans.
- Support senior staff: Assist senior estimators with pricing schedules, direct cost reports, and final account preparation.
- Financial control: Help manage project budgets, track costs against the budget, and update cost forecasts.
- Tender and proposal preparation: Assist in the evaluation of tenders and the preparation of effective proposals and pricing documents.
- Liaise with teams: Cooperate with other professionals like project managers, architects, and engineers.
- Valuations: Assist with interim valuations and administer cash flow forecasts and variation orders.
Industries and Skills:
- Industries: Common in construction, manufacturing, and property development sectors.
- Skills: Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with estimating software such as WinQS or CCS.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Grade 12.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 1-2 years of construction estimating experience.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and market prices.
