About the Role

Gauteng-based insurance brokerage firm Werkie is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter to join their team. With a strong background in personal lines underwriting and a passion for accurate and efficient policy management, you will play a key role in providing top-notch service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle policy amendments and adjustments and confirm coverage for clients.
  • Prepare accurate quotations for clients and brokers.
  • Ensure timely and correct renewals are processed and sent to clients.
  • Assess new business and renewal applications to determine eligibility and risk.
  • Draft border letters and confirm policy coverage.
  • Collaborate with brokers and team members to provide efficient and high-quality service to clients.
  • Provide guidance on underwriting guidelines and ensure procedures are correctly followed.

Requirements

  • 1 – 5 years’ experience with personal underwriting
  • Must have experience in policy administration and underwriting guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience with Santams portal & NIMBIS is a major advantage
  • Strong Excel skills
  • RE5 qualification beneficial but not mandatory

Qualifications

  • Self-disciplined, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and client service

Salary & Benefits

R18 000 – R25 000 depending on experience
