About the Role
Gauteng-based insurance brokerage firm Werkie is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter to join their team. With a strong background in personal lines underwriting and a passion for accurate and efficient policy management, you will play a key role in providing top-notch service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle policy amendments and adjustments and confirm coverage for clients.
- Prepare accurate quotations for clients and brokers.
- Ensure timely and correct renewals are processed and sent to clients.
- Assess new business and renewal applications to determine eligibility and risk.
- Draft border letters and confirm policy coverage.
- Collaborate with brokers and team members to provide efficient and high-quality service to clients.
- Provide guidance on underwriting guidelines and ensure procedures are correctly followed.
Requirements
- 1 – 5 years’ experience with personal underwriting
- Must have experience in policy administration and underwriting guidelines
- Knowledge and experience with Santams portal & NIMBIS is a major advantage
- Strong Excel skills
- RE5 qualification beneficial but not mandatory
Qualifications
- Self-disciplined, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and client service
Salary & Benefits
R18 000 – R25 000 depending on experience
