About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in IT and Technology to join our team for a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship and communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects across matrixed teams and ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, blockers, success measures, and estimated resources needed.
- Ensure that projects remain in-scope and meet budgetary, scheduling, and quality requirements.
- Develops, manages, and distributes quality project management artifacts like charters, schedules, budgets, reports, and meeting minutes. Ensures that all project documentation is accurate and up to date in the PMO Toolset as well as project folders.
- Provide project status updates at predetermined time intervals to all stakeholders.
- Communicate routinely to management, customers, project team members, and other stakeholders, actively soliciting and addressing customer and project team feedback.
- Actively manage the RAID log – Identifying, managing, and communicating changes (risks, issues, actions and decisions) that may affect the project.
- Set and monitor project budgets and staffing requirements.
- Ensure adherence to legally binding requirements (if required).
- Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring.
- Establish key project criteria metrics with inputs from project owner and sponsor.
- Ensure projects and activities are executed in the most efficient and agile way based on agreed company methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in the project plan.
- Plan and lead status review meetings, which may include internal team members, vendors, and customers.
- Responsible for training, managing, and motivating the project team, as well as resolving team conflicts.
- Resolve technical and operational issues as required.
- Follow the change methodology, participate, facilitate, drive the deliverables, and manage feedback with senior leadership on the project to ensure successful adoption.
Requirements
- PMP or similar project management certification is a must have.
- Proficient in MS Project and other scheduling tools.
- High experience in the application of project governance and working within a PMO environment.
- Knowledge and experience with different project management frameworks, including waterfall and agile.
- Highly proficient in project management methodology execution, tools, and templates (includes project planning, schedule development, scope management, and cost management).
- Excellent project management skills including prioritization, risk management, scheduling, documentation, and negotiation to ensure project remains on track.
