Key Responsibilities include: (Not Limited to)
 
Database Management:
 
Administer and Maintain databases within client environments to ensure optimal performance , security and availability
Install and configure and upgrade database software and related products
Collaborate with various stakeholders and teams to deign and implement new database solutions
 
Data Security:
 
Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data
Conduct regular security audits and take corrective actions as necessary
 
 
Performance Optimization:
 
Monitor database performance and proactively address issues to ensure efficient and responsive systems
Optimize queries , indexes and other database elements for improved performance
 
Back up and Recoverey:
 
Develop and Implement back up and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss
Test and document recovery procedures to ensure business continuity
 
High Availibility:
 
Develop and implement high availability infrastructure and strategies to safeguard against data loss and system down time
Test and document High Availibility  solutions to ensure business continuity
 
Troubleshooting:
 
Investigate and resolve database related insidents and issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with other IT professionals to diagnose and address cross functional technical problems
 
Documentation:
 
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configuration , process and procedures
 
 
Qualifications and Experience:
 
Relevant Tertiary Qualification
Microsoft Professional Certified: Database Administration
Experience with components included with SQL server (reporting, Integration and Analysis services)
Proficient in T-SQL and database performance tuning
Cloud based Solutions (AWS , Azure etc.)
PowerBI
NoSQL databases (Mongo DB, Cassandra etc.)
In depth Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Database administration
Strong understanding of database Security , backup and recovery strategies
Excellent problem solving skills
