Purpose of the Role:
To manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping for a range of clients. The Bookkeeper will work closely with accountants and clients to maintain up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as Xero or Sage.

Key

• Record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory reports.

• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Manage payroll data and assist with payroll processing (if required).

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for clients.

• Generate reports and summaries for accountants or clients as required.

• Liaise with clients regarding their financial queries and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with relevant tax and financial regulations.

Qualifications Required:

• Matric (Grade 12) required.

• Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or related field.

• AAT, ICB, or similar bookkeeping qualification is advantageous.

Experience:

• Minimum 24 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in an accounting firm or multi-client environment.

• Strong working knowledge of Xero and/or Sage accounting software is essential.

• Experience handling multiple client accounts is an advantage.
