Job Summary
- Matric, or similar qualification
- Proven experience as an estimator in a manufacturing industry
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Understanding of materials, production methods, and installation processes
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
DUTIES
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Liaise with suppliers for up-to-date pricing on raw materials, equipment, and outsourced services
- Prepare and submit quotations in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with sales and project managers to understand client requirements and ensure alignment on pricing strategies
- Monitor and update cost databases and estimation tools
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Assist with tenders and RFQs, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted correctly
- Track project costs post-approval to ensure profitability and identify discrepancies
