Job Summary

Hire Resolve`s client is seeking an innovative and results-driven Actuarial Manager – Pricing to join our their team in Johannesburg. The Pricing Manager oversees the Insurance`s actuarial general insurance pricing teams, responsible for technical price certification across all business segments. Reporting to the Chief Pricing Actuary, this role involves close collaboration with other pricing managers to enhance underwriting performance in various market segments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and foster collaboration.
  • Improve the relevance of pricing insights within the business.
  • Provide actuarial support and advice.
  • Analyze pricing monitoring results and communicate findings to relevant teams.
  • Participate in portfolio management and performance assessment against KPIs.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including product, underwriting, reinsurance, finance, and IT.
  • Plan and manage team workload within established service level agreements.
  • Oversee pricing basis review projects and ensure timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain data sources and price monitoring reports.
  • Maintain modeling standards and drive best practices.
  • Recruit, train, and manage team performance while fostering company culture.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and VBA automation.
  • Skilled in SAS, SQL, and QlikView; adept at reconciling data.
  • Experienced with pricing modeling software (e.g., WTW, Earnix).
  • Strong knowledge of GI actuarial pricing concepts and portfolio management.
  • Bachelor`s degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Progress toward actuarial exams and relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum of 4 years in GI insurance pricing; other actuarial experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to advise senior management and manage diverse teams.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
  • Strong planning and coordination abilities.
  • Data-driven decision-making and change management.
