About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer to lead our specialist property & bridging finance company in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of scaling businesses profitably, leading P&L, and driving growth through strategic leadership and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership, operational direction, and financial stewardship to achieve sustainable growth and profitability
- Oversee all business operations, lending activities, compliance, and stakeholder relationships
- Lead the development of new product lines and cultivate a culture of high performance and accountability
- Define and execute a multi-year strategic growth plan and expand into adjacent markets leading the development of new products or digital offerings
- Build and lead a high-performance team with strong accountability and drive efficiency in origination, underwriting, collections, and client service
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics minimum; postgraduate qualification such as MBA, CA(SA), CIMA, or CFA or a legal qualification is preferred but not essential
- Previous experience having worked in either a CEO or an FD or a related role is essential for the role
- Proven ability to scale a business profitably, experience leading P&L, and demonstrated ability to manage risk, compliance, and regulatory relationships in the South African financial context
Qualifications
- CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, or other postgraduate qualification preferred but not essential
- Legal qualification preferred but not essential
