About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy aligned to long-term growth, scalability, and value creation for a leading organisation in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving return on equity and capital efficiency, as well as shaping the company’s valuation narrative and equity story.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year value creation plan
  • Take ownership of M&A activities, including deal evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and execution
  • Drive capital raising initiatives and manage investor engagement processes
  • Lead Board reporting and investor communications, ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Ensure robust financial governance, reporting, audit compliance, and IFRS standards
  • Oversee tax strategy, compliance, and financial risk management frameworks
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, strengthening FP&A and data-driven decision-making
  • Implement scalable financial systems to support rapid business growth

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or private equity
  • Proven track record in M&A, capital raising, and executing large-scale transactions
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and capital markets expertise
  • Deep understanding of deal structuring and investor expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at Executive, Board, and investor level
  • Strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and execution focus

Qualifications

  • CA(SA) is essential
  • CFA or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous
