About the Role
Our client, a Property IDevelopment & Management company, is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring that construction works are executed safely, to specification, on programme, and within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of site activities
- Ensure that construction works are executed safely, to specification, on programme, and within quality standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, staff, suppliers, and site management
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities and labour
- Manage subcontractors to ensure productivity, quality, and programme compliance
- Ensure works are executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and approved methods
- Monitor daily progress and report to the Site Manager
- Enforce health and safety standards in line with OHS Act and company policies
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and site briefings
Requirements
- Trade qualification or relevant construction certification
- First Aid and Safety rep certificates (advantageous)
- Minimum 10 years experience in a similar foreman role
- Strong practical construction knowledge (civil, structural, finishes)
- Have a good understanding of plumbing and electrical installations
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and direct labour
- Sound understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Good working knowledge of OHS regulations
Qualifications
- Trade qualification or relevant construction certification
