About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our credit assessment process, you will play a crucial role in evaluating SME and public-seCTOR applications, applying sound credit-lending principles and financial analysis to ensure long-term portfolio health.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate SME and public-sector applications using sound credit-lending principles and financial analysis
- Conduct complex financial analysis to identify risk trends and recommend actions that support portfolio health
- Work closely with internal teams to provide meaningful insights, communicate credit decisions, and ensure seamless feedback loops
- Maintain accurate tracking registers, manage meetings, assist with credit policy enhancements, and contribute to ad-hoc strategic projects
- Drive “first-time right” decisions and support arrears prevention through well-informed, high-quality assessments
Requirements
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of Credit experience, ideally within financial services or asset finance
- Solid understanding of credit lending principles, financial statements, and risk assessment
- Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills able to tailor messages to multiple stakeholders
- Tech-savvy with MS Office and business systems; understanding of AI is a plus
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Credit Risk, Accounting, Finance, or similar
