Johannesburg: Financial Accountant – Operations & Cost Control

A specialist branding and print-production business, that manages the full value chain, is looking for a Financial Accountant who is operationally minded, structured, and confident taking ownership of both the financial and administrative backbone of their business. This is not a sit-back-and-wait role – its a hands-on position where discipline, processes, and accuracy translate directly into commercial performance. If you enjoy understanding how a business runs behind the scenes and ensuring that every cost, invoice, contract, and report has its place, this is the role for you. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily bookkeeping transactions, allocate expenses correctly, and challenge inaccuracies Prepare and send customer invoices, carry out reconciliations, and maintain accurate ledgers Use Odoo ERP to allocate costs to the appropriate projects, cost centers, and analytic accounts Track job and project performance, identify variances, and report on budget vs actuals Maintain supplier records, contracts, pricing files, and supporting documentation Oversee administrative processes, including document control, back-office compliance, and workflow efficiencies Coordinate cash collection, supplier payments, and internal controls Support management with reporting, forecasting, and improvement initiatives Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom in Accounting, Finance, or similar 24 years’ experience in an accounting role with exposure to cost allocation or management accounting Strong reconciliation and bookkeeping accuracy Experience with Odoo ERP or similar (SAP B1, Syspro, and Sage Evolution) advantageous Comfortable working in a hands-on operational environment with multiple moving parts Clear communicator with strong organisational discipline and ownership mindset Ability to build structure, enforce processes, and maintain financial integrity Apply now and take ownership of the numbers that drive production, projects, and performance.
