Our client based in the Johannesburg area is seeking a Group Distribution Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be managing group distribution, logistics and warehouse departments to satisfy customer service needs whilst optimizing the utilization of assets and the departments performance to remain competitive.

Strategy Development and Alignment:

• Champion the development of group distribution strategy incorporating customer service, talent development, management of service providers, and environmental sustainability objectives
• Supports the companys strategic direction and business objectives and contribute to achievement of organizational goals.
• Manage SLAs with service providers warehousing, forklift, rent, training
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate continuous improvement
• Build and sustain positive relationships with key distribution leadership members, stakeholders and clients.
• Cultivate productive working relationship and build organizational capability and responsiveness.

Operations Management:

• Serve as a centre of excellence for all distribution functions Raw materials, WIP, FG, Dispatch, pallet yard and waste processing
• Manage stock accuracy and quality
• Establishing standards for all the distribution processes
• Manage cost optimization in distribution and across the supply chain
• Oversee warehouse (internal and external) optimization
• Manage SLA with all service providers and internal departments
• Risk management
• Reduction of supply chain waste
• Project management from scoping to delivery

• Bachelor/ Degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain, Logistics or related qualification
• 10 years relevant work experience
• Exposure in distribution, logistics and warehouse environment is critical
• Proven 10 years record as a distribution manager or in a similar managerial role
• Strong knowledge of legal requirements and regulations related to distribution and Transportation
