Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Millwright to perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on underground mining equipment. This position requires someone based in Johannesburg who is willing to travel to various mining sites in Rustenburg and Limpopo. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of mining equipment by providing both mechanical and electrical support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance and Repair
   • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical components of underground mining equipment.
   • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems to minimize equipment downtime.
   • Ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out according to safety protocols and industry standards.
2. Safety and Compliance
   • Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and report any potential hazards.
   • Ensure all work complies with regulatory and site-specific safety standards.

1. Technical Support and Diagnostics
   • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
   • Collaborate with on-site technicians and maintenance staff to provide comprehensive support.

1. Documentation and Reporting
   • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on equipment.
   • Report on equipment condition, maintenance schedules, and any necessary replacements or upgrades.

1. Travel and Site Support
   • Be available for on-call support as required to address urgent maintenance issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified Millwright with both electrical and mechanical certifications.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Millwright in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Must be medically fit and have a clear criminal record.
