Johannesburg North: Intermediate Reinsurance Accountant posted by Network Finance

• Prepare, process, and review reinsurance accounts in accordance with treaty terms and IFRS principles.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of cedent and reinsurer accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Analyse treaty statistics, assist in reporting, and liaise with Underwriting and Actuarial teams.
• Manage claims data, ensuring reserves and recoveries are updated and correctly reflected.
• Support audits, assist with performance-based commission calculations, and contribute to improving data quality.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential).
• Experience: 3–5 years’ accounting experience within insurance or reinsurance (non-negotiable).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and solid reconciliation skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and exposure to systems such as SAP, CaseWare, or similar.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
• A curious mindset and a love for numbers that make sense.
