About the Role

Network Finance is seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg North. As a key member of our risk management department, you will play a critical role in shaping our approach to credit and lending strategies. With your expertise in quantitative modeling and analysis, you will help us make informed decisions that balance business objectives with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and enhance collections and behavioral models supporting Personal Loans and Overdraft portfolios.
  • Analyze business performance against defined risk appetite and present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Identify portfolio trends, emerging risks, and optimization opportunities through in-depth analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Partner with operational and business stakeholders throughout model development, system changes, and strategy implementation.
  • Increase efficiency through automation and programming of analytical processes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through structured documentation, governance processes, and engagement with relevant external bodies.
  • Peer-review and challenge models across the broader portfolio to ensure consistency and best practice.
  • Conduct impact analysis for new and enhanced products to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain high data integrity through pre- and post-implementation testing of system and strategy changes.
  • Share insights, industry trends, and best practices to support team capability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant analytical experience, ideally within credit risk, personal lending, or retail banking.
  • Quantitative modelling and advanced analytical capability.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to personal lending.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Postgraduate qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Science (preferred).
