About the Role
The Plant Controller is a critical role within our organization, responsible for providing finance and accounting leadership to the Plant Manager. As the finance business partner to the Plant Executive Committee, you will play a key role in planning and coordinating the plant budget and business planning activities, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide management reports to Management with recommendations on a monthly basis in order for the business management team to make relevant and pro-active adjustments to reduce costs.
- Define and develop reports for the reporting on plant performance.
- Co-ordination and collection of annual cost centre budgets, including SAP models to calculate budgeted unit costs.
- Preparation of Rolling Forecast and month estimated costs.
- Ownership of the World Class Manufacturing Cost Deployment Pillar.
- Monitor, manage and accurately report on Product Costing (Standard Costs & Actual Costs) to support business decisions.
- Perform cost simulations and provide unit costs for new products in order for the product team to make accurate decisions around pricing.
- Ensure annual standard costs for all products are set up.
- Application of cost accounting systems and procedures.
- Conduct cost analysis and production variance analysis in order to identify and address anomalies.
- Standardisation of costing processes and procedures in Gyproc to achieve efficiency and consistency.
- Drive costs down by continuously reviewing costs and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Ensure accurate K2 Financial Data Reporting for benchmarking with other SG entities.
- Co-ordinate the preparation of the Cost of Factors file monthly to enable the proactive management of costs in the plants.
- Attendance and active participation at Operations Management meetings.
- Drive compliance of business controls with the plant leadership team.
- Participation in inventory counts, review inventory scrapping and adjustments in order to ensure compliance with business controls as well as to influence the minimisation of such activities.
- Co-ordinate SAP CO month end closure.
- Revaluation of Finished Goods inventory to actual.
- Adhoc exercises as and when required by management.
- Ensure adherence to Quality, Environmental Health and Safety requirements of the Organization.
Requirements
- Honours Degree in Management Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
- CIMA or CA(SA) qualified preferred.
- 5+ years of management accounting with strong costing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- SAP knowledge is a pre requisite.
- Advanced computer Literacy (MS Office).
- Strong analytical skills.

- Completed Honours Degree in Management Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
