Job Summary
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: NDip/BTech in Engineering 3 years` relevant industry experience Mechanical experience/knowledge Structural experience/knowledge Electrical experience/knowledge Project planning and coordination experience Construction in the steel industry advantageous Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience in the grain industry will be beneficial Fluency in Afrikaans is advantageous ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning of projects: Attend project start up meetings and record timelines agreed to with customer. Plan project milestones in terms of staging, shipping, installation and completion. Open project files and ensure documentation and records are maintained. These include and are not limited to, accepted quotation, project drawings, shipment documents etc. Monitor progress against milestones and resolve any discrepancies. Report any issues to the appropriate staff members and in the manner prescribed by the company. Review project drawings, bill of materials and/or any other documentation pertaining to the equipment requirements of projects and report any discrepancies.1.1 Attend project start up meetings and record timelines agreed to with customer. Inspect equipment staged and ensure completeness of equipment staged against the bill of materials. 1.7 Follow up with procurement division to ensure items on back order have been ordered and update the project plan with estimate time of arrivals and potential issues. Ensure appointed installer are furnished with the company approved installer agreement, health and safety guidelines, drawings, variation notices, installation plans or any other document pertaining to the installation. Installation support: Liaise with appointed installer and customer throughout the installation process. Monitor progress against set timelines and report any overruns to the Technical Manager. Perform site inspections and ensure equipment is installed according to the design specifications and according to the company approved quality standards. Also ensure equipment is stored on-site in an acceptable manner to avoid any form of damage to the equipment. Maintain reports and documentation as required by the company throughout the project and update the project file. Be aware of cost and expense implications on projects and implement cost saving measures throughout the project. 2.6 Complete all finalisation documents required by the company, hand over all manuals and guides to the customer and liaise with finance department regarding completion of projects. Customer-focused and market intelligence: Build and maintain good customer relationships. Treat potential, new and existing customers with professionalism, honesty, dignity and respect. Respond to requests from customers, installers and colleagues promptly and within a reasonable time period. Submit market intelligence information to the management of the Company about pricing, opposition activity and products Administration and reporting: Keep and maintain all records and documents related to the Business. Provide all reports in the format prescribed as requested from time to time by the management of the Company. Health and safety: Comply with the health and safety laws, regulations, standards and procedures of the Company and customers. Promote the health and safety objectives of the Company throughout the execution of your duties. General: Assist with any task reasonably allocated to you by the Company. Compliance to all Company Policies and Procedures. Maintain good work ethics and complete tasks accurately, neatly and according to the Company standards. Protect the intellectual property of the Company by not divulging information about the Companys products, pricing, financial models, designs or any other information pertaining to the Company, not available to the general public. Use Company property with care and make suggestions/proposals that may lead to cost savings for the benefit of the Company.
