Johannesburg: Senior Manager – SHERQ

Experience Minimum 810 years experience in SHERQ / HSE management in a high-risk environment (e.g. mining, manufacturing, explosives, petrochemical or similar). Minimum 5 years experience in a senior or management role with responsibility for SHERQ strategy, systems and teams. Proven experience in implementing and maintaining SHERQ management systems (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 or equivalent). Demonstrated experience in leading incident investigations, risk assessments and audit programmes. Experience engaging with regulatory authorities and managing compliance in complex operational environments. Experience in driving culture change and behavioural safety initiatives will be advantageous. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality, Engineering or related field (e.g. BTech / BSc / National Diploma). Recognised SHERQ / HSE professional certifications or training (e.g. SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor, Risk Management) will be advantageous. Mining or explosives experience. Skills In-depth knowledge of SHERQ legislation, regulations and applicable standards. Strong understanding of risk management principles and tools. Ability to implement, manage and audit SHERQ management systems (ISO 45001 / 14001 / 9001 or equivalent). Excellent incident investigation and root-cause analysis skills. Strong report writing, data analysis and SHERQ performance monitoring skills. Strong leadership and people management capabilities with the ability to influence at all levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). High level of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct. Strong problem-solving, decision-making and conflict management skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset. Willingness to travel to operational sites as required.
