About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in Johannesburg West, South Africa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on heavy mining and drilling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on heavy mining and drilling equipment
- Diagnose and resolve breakdowns on drill rigs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, compressors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
- Install, commission, and test new equipment on site
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Compile detailed service and maintenance reports
- Provide technical support and training to site personnel
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements
- Strong experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Qualified Millwright (Red Seal / Trade Tested)
- Minimum 5 years posttrade experience (mining or heavy industrial environment preferred)
- PLC fault-finding exposure (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Valid passport (with no travel restrictions)
- Valid driver’s license
- Medically fit for remote site work
