About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Underwriter who is FAIS compliant and holds a Class of Business RE5 qualification. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing commercial insurance applications, determining risk factors, and calculating premiums for commercial insurance policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate commercial insurance applications to determine risk factors and calculate premiums
- Analyze underwriting data, financial statements, and other relevant information to make informed decisions
- Ensure compliance with FAIS regulations and company policies
- Review and approve policy changes, endorsements, and renewals
- Collaborate with insurance agents, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient underwriting processes
- Provide guidance and advice to clients on insurance products, coverage options, and risk management strategies
- Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in commercial underwriting
Requirements
- FAIS compliant
- Class of Business RE5 qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and regulations
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting software

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (if applicable)
