Job Description

Job Title: Commercial Underwriter – FAIS Compliant – Class of Business – RE5

Location: Pinetown Area, Durban KZN

Position Overview:
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Underwriter who is FAIS compliant and holds a Class of Business RE5 qualification. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing commercial insurance applications, determining risk factors, and calculating premiums for commercial insurance policies. The role requires a deep understanding of insurance principles, policies, and regulations, as well as strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities:
– Evaluate commercial insurance applications to determine risk factors and calculate premiums
– Analyze underwriting data, financial statements, and other relevant information to make informed decisions
– Ensure compliance with FAIS regulations and company policies
– Review and approve policy changes, endorsements, and renewals
– Collaborate with insurance agents, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient underwriting processes
– Provide guidance and advice to clients on insurance products, coverage options, and risk management strategies
– Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in commercial underwriting

Qualifications:
– FAIS compliant
– Class of Business RE5 qualification
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting
– Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and regulations
– Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting software
